Dictation Records of Thin Plastic
Made by Ediphone, Soundscriber and Gray, these thin plastic more-or-less 7" discs were mainly intended for stenographic applications. Depending on the blank and recording machine, they play 10 to 15 minutes per side. Some need very specialized playback equipment, available here.

BASIC LISTENING. Cleaning and copying to the workstation; setting basic equalization and processing the sound through the digital cleanup program; initial playing speed adjustment, $ 50 to $100 per side, depending on playing time.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

ENHANCED LISTENING. Removing many clicks and other non-program noises by hand editing that the digital program does not. Further hiss reduction, equalization and level adjustment, usually $ 25 to $ 50 per side.

REPAIRS. Making a continuous program of a side interrupted by repeating or skipped grooves, $ 15 to $ 75 per side, more for those with extreme damage.

PREPARATION FOR CD MASTERING: Assembling sides into final playing sequence is $ 25.

COPYING. Recording your CD or cassette copy from the restored signal is $ 30 for the first CD or cassette, $ 20 for each thereafter. A CD can hold 4 to 7 disc sides..
